Day #24 Bikini Competition and Photo Shoot

datePosted on 06:57, February 25th, 2010 by admin

Ugh…feeling so discouraged.  Things just aren’t happening the way they should be.  I’m feeling exhausted but am seeing no results.  :(   I will be trying the Adrenal Cleanse – once again – next week.  I must push through this and try to figure out what is causing the slow results…and keep my eyes on the prize!!

I’d do the cleanse this weekend but I have a trade show to attend in Long Beach for my husband’s business.  With that being said, the workouts and nutrition will be a bit off since we will be on the Trade-show schedule, and I probably won’t post again until Sunday.  I’ll let you know how it all goes.  I’m pretty excited because we were able to get a nice room overlooking the water. :)  Maybe some R & R will help with these difficulties.  I’m going to try to get some much needed rest and hopefully clear my head so that I’m not quite so stressed.

Today:  M-1  Eggwhites and Hashbrowns (cooked in PAM), M-2 Celery and Peanut Butter, M-3 Chicken Breast and Broccoli, M-4 Rice Cakes, M-5 Fish or Turkey Patties and a Salad.

Workout:  Legs will be the topic of choice today with my ladies small group.  I will probably add some cardio and Back and Biceps.

Until Next Time…

Day #23 Bikini Competition and Photo Shoot

datePosted on 07:03, February 24th, 2010 by admin

Happy Day!  I’m feeling better, YAY!

Yesterday I taught a fitness class in the morning but took the rest of the day off  so I could just “chill”.  I think it helped because my cold seems to be fading at last!

M-1 – Eggwhites & Oatmeal, M-2 Fruit, M-3 Whole Wheat Turkey Breast Sandwich and Apple, M-4 Celery and Peanut Butter, M-5 not sure yet – probably Turkey Patties since I don’t have any chicken breast cooked up.

Workout – I’m teaching two fitness classes today so we’ll have to see how I feel.  I would like to work Shoulders and Triceps and maybe a short sprint session.

Until Next Time…

Howdy!

I think my cold has come back.  It’s crazy.  I haven’t been sick in probably 3 years and now I can’t shake an irritating cold. Grrrrr…

Weighed myself last night again and weight is a stable 143, body fat is down – 31%.  I started this journey with my body fat way too high for someone of my frame/height and a trainer no less!  It is a constant battle with me because I tend to hold all of my stress inside.  I feel ashamed but the only way to turn this around is to keep pushing forward with my training and nutrition and manage my stress.

I think I’m going to have to try to modify my sleep patterns.  I’ve been waking up each night around 3:00 a.m. with my heart racing.  This was an issue before after my brother passed away.  My mind just won’t shut down and wakes me up with thoughts/stresses of the previous day.  I have been drinking “Sleepy Time” tea at bedtime but it’s not sustaining my sleep throughout the night.  Last time I went through this, my Naturopathic Doctor recommended I take some Melatonin in minimal doses and it worked!  I wouldn’t recommend just taking this on your own until you see your physician or at least do LOTS of research.  Another thing that is supposed to help is to remove yourself from exposure to “blue light” which means shutting down the computer and television at least an hour before you go to sleep.  That’s so hard for me to do, though!!  But, a great way to help with this is to grab your favorite magazine or book and read for awhile.

M-1 – Muffin w/Nat. Peanut Butter, M-2 Fruit, M-3 Turkey Breast Sandwich (1 slice of Bread), celery, M-4 Rice Cakes, M-5 Chicken Breast, Veggie.

Workout – Sprints and Shoulders/Abs.  Yesterday I ended up doing Chest.  Not sure why, but it felt right. lol.. good workout.

Until Next Time…

Day 19, 20, 21 Bikini Competition and Photo Shoot

Hey Everybody!

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend!  Mine was so-so.  I’ve had better and worse.  I still seem to be carrying a TON of stress and can’t seem to get this weight to BUDGE.  This weigh-in took place on Friday before the nutrition disaster struck… So, I did the natural thing – overate.  ERGH!!

Not good, I know, but I enjoyed myself and I’m back on track for today.  When I over-indulge, it’s not the usual cookies or candies – it’s usually carbs at the wrong time of the day, and CHEESE.  I have a very bad problem with cheese.  I’m not even sure why, but it is one of my all time favorite things to eat whether mixed into something or all by itself.  I had good intentions, though.  I made the family my homemade Ground Turkey Tacos.  Sounds healthy enough, right?Yes, it is healthy until you add too much cheese and have more helpings than you should, and then have a repeat with the leftovers the next day!  Today I need to drink TONS of water after all of the sodium I took in this weekend.  The rest of the weekend, I ate on target – it’s just those blasted tacos!!  Had I been in the midst of competition training, I would have NEVER done what I did this weekend.  This is why it is SO IMPORTANT to set goals.  If you have a specific date, target weight, outfit, cholesterol level, whatever, it helps you stick to the program much more than just saying – “I want to lose weight”.  For instance, if you have a Doctor’s appointment in April – then set a goal for that date – I want my cholesterol to be down such-and-such an amount in time for my Doctor’s appointment.

Anyway, with all that said, I know that I need to set a date for my photo shoot so that I can have a specific target date and it will, in turn, help me to be more disciplined with my training and nutrition.  So I’ll be penciling something in on my calendar soon and let you know.  :)

M-1 – Eggwhites/Oatmeal, M-2 – Fruit, M-3 – Fish and Broccoli w/1 slice of bread, M-4 – Rice Cakes w/Nat. P/B, M-5 – to be determined…lol..

Workout – Sprints, Shoulders and Abs

Until Next Time…

Day #18 Bikini Competition and Photo Shoot

Cheat Day! Yay! When you’re striving to lose weight, I always encourage my clients to take one day per week to eat as they’d like.  This takes away all of the cravings that they experience.  A good way to help with this is throughout the week, keep a journal and write down what you are craving and include that thing on your cheat day!  If it’s M&M’s, have some M&M’s, if it’s Pizza, have some pizza.  Just remember to do so in moderation because now that you’ve been eating healthy, your body might not react so good to a BINGE, so go easy, and enjoy your cheat day!

M-1 Raisin and Granola Cereal…

The rest to be announced later. lol.. I believe that Pizza is in the mix which is probably my all time FAVORITE cheat!

Workout – Day off from Sprints. Working Legs today.

Have an amazing day!

Until Next Time…

Day# 17 Bikini Competition and Photo Shoot

datePosted on 07:35, February 18th, 2010 by admin

When we’re training, trying to reach a goal, there will always be obstacles – illness, stress, or even a family wedding or party that may send us over the edge.  There is nothing wrong with slipping occasionally – skipping a workout, indulging in something that is a no-no on your nutrition plan, or having an extra “unhealthy” snack….as long as you force yourself to get back up on the horse and continue after the fall.  No one is perfect. You must keep your eyes on the prize – whatever it might be… Perhaps putting a photo of how you want to look, or maybe a quote from your favorite magazine with a photo beside it…Something like “Fit at 46″, or “A person only grows as much as his horizon allows” (John Powell), or “CANI – Constant and Never-ending Improvement” Tony Robbins. Keep the goal in front of you. If you work, place a small inspiring photo on/near your desk, on your refrigerator, in the break-room…whatever it takes to keep you motivated and on target!!

With that said…after feeling sick for DAYS, I finally pushed through the cold last night and got that sprint session and shoulder/ab workout in. Cranked up a little Def Leppard and I was good to go!

It turned out to be a fantastic workout…In fact, it was an AWESOME workout. Looking forward to today – Sprints/Back/Biceps – Game On!!

Until Next Time…

Today has been uneventful.  Still feeling like crap as far as the cold or what-have-you. Just mostly tired today with a dull headache.

Heading to the treadmill now to see if I can muster up some inspiration. :)

M-1 Homemade Bran Muffins w/1 TBSP cream cheese, M-2 Apple, M-3 Chicken and Broccoli, M-4 Rice Cakes w/peanut butter, M-5 Something with Fish, Veggie

Day #15 Bikini Competition and Photo Shoot

datePosted on 07:58, February 16th, 2010 by admin

Would like to get into this type of condition for photo shoot.Today I am starting to feel much better.  I feel a bit more rested, my kitty seems stable and the Valium has at least allowed him to relax enough to break his fever.  So things are returning to normal here. Can’t stand it when a day doesn’t go as planned.  I am so far behind as far as my “break between boot camps plan” goes, but I guess we never really get caught up, now do we?

My plans for today are as follows:

M-1 – Eggwhites/Hashbrowns, M-2 – Orange, M-3 Chicken Breast Sandwich, Broccoli, M-3 – Apple, M-4 – Fish, Veggie. :)

Workout – Going to try again to hit the sprints and some Shoulders and Abs. Wish me luck, I’m on the mend but not 100% yet.

Until Next Time…

Day #14 Bikini Competition and Photo Shoot

I was selected to be on the Banner for SiouxCountry!

Yesterday was sort of a bummer of a day. I was sick, and my little kitty became VERY ill on Valentines Evening.

The Veterinarian believes it is in fact Feline Hyperesthesia. He has prescribed Valium for my cat for the time being. He said our recent move could have triggered it…that my cat is extremely stressed because of new surroundings. He was very nervous when we first moved in but seemed to relax so I’m not sure what triggered this nervousness again. He has been pretty skittish the past week or so. So, we go back in 2 weeks for another check but they are running a white blood cell test because there could be other underlying – I just don’t have the money right now for all of the tests. :(

Hence, the reason for no posts. Workout and Nutrition was way off, only because my schedule was really messed up between lack of sleep (worrying about my kitty hurting himself), and running all around to the Vet, etc.

But you know during training programs these types of things happen and you just can’t sweat it. You just take care of yourself, get caught up on your sleep, and hit it hard the next day.  Plain and simple. No one is perfect and everyone slips at least once while on a program.  We should, of course, try to make wise choices on days like I had yesterday, but sometimes we just don’t feel like it.  Use that as education for the next time things go haywire…make note of things such as a lack of healthy quick eats in your cupboard, or when you grabbed something unhealthy vs. healthy.  Was it because of stress, was it time constraints?  Try to figure it out…

Until Next Time…
