Day #29 and #30 Bikini Competition and Photo Shoot

datePosted on 11:14, March 3rd, 2010 by admin

Wow, I didn’t even realize I missed a day!  Soooo Sorry!

I mentioned previously that I’ve been carrying an excessive amount of stress but have decided that I am NOT going to let it get the best of me.  I have done a lot of soul searching the past few days and will NOT let stress or anything bring me down any longer!

I have to take a stand and do what’s best for my body and my mind.  As a Christian, many times we think we are doing the right things – turning things over to Him, and will pray, cry, release only to take that worry right back away from Him.  We never truly turn things over to Him fully.  This has been my problem.  I know, ultimately, that God has an amazing plan for my life.  I know that God has allowed things to happen in my life so that I could help others.  I know that I am a STRONG woman and have overcome many obstacles and can overcome this one or that one… and lastly I KNOW that He (Christ) loves me and died for my sins and is always there to carry me when times are tough.

I have set some specific goals in my life and am finally LOOKING FORWARD to seeing them come to fruition.

Thanks for following my journey, thus far, and I look forward to hearing from you on FACEBOOK or through a “Contact Form” on my website to share your comments, or questions.

I hope everyone has an AMAZING day!  There is Beauty everywhere but we’re usually to busy to see it. Take a moment to look, to really look and appreciate what’s around you.

Until Next Time….

Day #24 Bikini Competition and Photo Shoot

datePosted on 06:57, February 25th, 2010 by admin

Ugh…feeling so discouraged.  Things just aren’t happening the way they should be.  I’m feeling exhausted but am seeing no results.  :(   I will be trying the Adrenal Cleanse – once again – next week.  I must push through this and try to figure out what is causing the slow results…and keep my eyes on the prize!!

I’d do the cleanse this weekend but I have a trade show to attend in Long Beach for my husband’s business.  With that being said, the workouts and nutrition will be a bit off since we will be on the Trade-show schedule, and I probably won’t post again until Sunday.  I’ll let you know how it all goes.  I’m pretty excited because we were able to get a nice room overlooking the water. :)  Maybe some R & R will help with these difficulties.  I’m going to try to get some much needed rest and hopefully clear my head so that I’m not quite so stressed.

Today:  M-1  Eggwhites and Hashbrowns (cooked in PAM), M-2 Celery and Peanut Butter, M-3 Chicken Breast and Broccoli, M-4 Rice Cakes, M-5 Fish or Turkey Patties and a Salad.

Workout:  Legs will be the topic of choice today with my ladies small group.  I will probably add some cardio and Back and Biceps.

Until Next Time…

Day #14 Bikini Competition and Photo Shoot

Yesterday was sort of a bummer of a day. I was sick, and my little kitty became VERY ill on Valentines Evening.

The Veterinarian believes it is in fact Feline Hyperesthesia. He has prescribed Valium for my cat for the time being. He said our recent move could have triggered it…that my cat is extremely stressed because of new surroundings. He was very nervous when we first moved in but seemed to relax so I’m not sure what triggered this nervousness again. He has been pretty skittish the past week or so. So, we go back in 2 weeks for another check but they are running a white blood cell test because there could be other underlying – I just don’t have the money right now for all of the tests. :(

Hence, the reason for no posts. Workout and Nutrition was way off, only because my schedule was really messed up between lack of sleep (worrying about my kitty hurting himself), and running all around to the Vet, etc.

But you know during training programs these types of things happen and you just can’t sweat it. You just take care of yourself, get caught up on your sleep, and hit it hard the next day.  Plain and simple. No one is perfect and everyone slips at least once while on a program.  We should, of course, try to make wise choices on days like I had yesterday, but sometimes we just don’t feel like it.  Use that as education for the next time things go haywire…make note of things such as a lack of healthy quick eats in your cupboard, or when you grabbed something unhealthy vs. healthy.  Was it because of stress, was it time constraints?  Try to figure it out…

Until Next Time…

6 STEPS TO FINDING BALANCE

6 STEPS TO FINDING BALANCE

Balance is crucial for our total well-being and that’s why I have selected to share this topic in my blog.

In today’s society, we are constantly on the go. There are so many things demanding our attention; family, work and extracurricular activities.  With all of the technology you would think that things would be a bit simpler, but it’s just not so. In fact, personally, these ”convenience” items add more stress because now I have to check for texts, email, phone messages, snail mail, it becomes correspondence overload!!

We must take steps to prioritize all of the “things” that are cluttering up our lives.  It may take some sacrifice, perhaps giving up a few bad habits, but it is a necessity.  One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is we must learn to occasionally say “no”.

I have included a few steps to help you find balance in your life.

1. Check Priorities – This may take some time and some weeding out but definitely worth the effort! You must determine what it is that is eating up your minutes each day.  Are you surfing the web too long?  Have you included your children in too many activities?  Do you have time to work out?  Are you stopping too often at Fast Food Restaurants because “it is convenient” and you’re lacking the time or energy to preparing a healthy meal for your family?

2. Be Honest. If you aren’t honest with yourself as to the true time-wasters in your life, things cannot change.  My recommendation is to keep a journal for a week or two, writing down EVERYTHING that you are doing each day.  Then be honest with yourself and decide what is truly necessary.

3. Organize. Once you have listed your priorities, re-write them in order, starting with yourself. No…putting yourself first is not being selfish; it’s enabling and empowering and gives your family the BEST YOU that you can give.  Also, organizing your household, your office, your car, everything can make your life run smoother and more effective than trying to sort through clutter each time you need a document, book report, school bag, uniform, etc.

4. Include Yourself! Include a hobby, craft, or service group to your schedule, whatever it is that helps you feel fulfilled. Again, it’s not being selfish, it’s so you can keep your sanity. It’s so you don’t lose yourself while caring for others, whether it’s a craft, music, reading, cycling, whatever!

5. Schedule EVERYTHING. Your meals, your workouts, your laundry day, everything! This takes work but it definitely will help you find balance. I like to use a desktop calendar that I can carry with me.  That is my main source, but I also have a wall calendar in the kitchen where I write important tasks for family members.

6. Stay on your schedule. BUT – if you miss something, for instance, your scheduled workout, don’t let it disrupt your entire schedule, life happens. Remember the old saying, don’t sweat the small stuff? Well, don’t sweat it!! Just continue on with your routine and if you find some extra time somewhere, perhaps you can makeup that missed cardio session.

Again, just a few small steps can help you make BIG gains in changing to a life of fitness and well being.
